Delight in tender cheese tortellini bathed in a rich, creamy marinara sauce that combines tangy tomatoes with smooth cream for a comforting Italian-inspired meal.

  • 1 package (9 oz) cheese tortellini
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the cheese tortellini according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Pour in the marinara sauce and stir in red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Reduce heat to low and slowly stir in heavy cream until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet and gently toss until well coated with the sauce.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  7. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve warm.

Notes

For added protein, serve with grilled chicken or sautéed mushrooms. A sprinkle of extra Parmesan enhances the cheesy flavor.
