  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups biscuit baking mix (such as Bisquick)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper for extra heat

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and breakfast sausage. Mix thoroughly until well blended.
  3. Add the shredded cheddar cheese, biscuit baking mix, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper (if using). Stir until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  4. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.
