cheese quesadilla

A quick and delicious cheese quesadilla featuring melted cheese between crispy tortillas, perfect for a satisfying snack or light meal.

  • 2 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Optional: salsa, sour cream, guacamole for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and melt half the butter.
  2. Place one tortilla in the skillet and evenly sprinkle both cheeses over it.
  3. Top with the second tortilla and press down gently.
  4. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom tortilla is golden and the cheese starts to melt.
  5. Carefully flip the quesadilla and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until golden and cheese is fully melted.
  6. Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, then cut into wedges.
  7. Serve warm with salsa, sour cream, or guacamole if desired.

Notes

For extra flavor, add cooked chicken, sliced jalapeños, or a sprinkle of cumin before folding the quesadilla.
