  • 1 cup toasted chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  5. Mix in the pumpkin puree, milk, and vanilla extract until combined.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until incorporated.
  7. Fold in the toasted chopped nuts gently.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle some chopped nuts on top before baking or serve slices with a smear of cream cheese for a delicious twist.
