Deliciously stuffed Touchdown Calzones packed with savory Italian meats, melted cheese, and zesty marinara sauce, perfect for game day or casual dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package pizza dough (about 1 lb)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 cup cooked Italian sausage, crumbled
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup diced green bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Flour, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle.
  3. Spread 1/2 cup marinara sauce evenly over half the dough, leaving a 1-inch border.
  4. Layer mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, Italian sausage, olives, bell pepper, and red onion over the sauce.
  5. Sprinkle oregano and garlic powder on top of the fillings.
  6. Fold the dough over the fillings to create a half-moon shape. Press edges firmly and seal with a fork.
  7. Brush the top of the calzone with beaten egg for a golden crust.
  8. Cut a few small slits on top to allow steam to escape.
  9. Place the calzone on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Remove from oven and let cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving with remaining marinara sauce.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top before baking or serve with a side of garlic butter dipping sauce.
